Upon finishing his MSc in Business Administration at the Vrije Universiteit (Amsterdam, NL) Alexander worked at a Swiss multinational for a number of years. Feeling unsatisified and "burn-out" during his time there, Alexander decided it was time to pursue his true passion, photography. He began by undertaking studies in Art Photography at the Fotoacademie (Amsterdam, NL) during September of 2015, and finally graduating in May 2017.
During the "burnout" period, Alexander was struck with a perception of personal failure as compared to his direct surroundings. Along the way he realized that perhaps these feelings of failure were instrumental in revealing the essentially illusory nature of the self. Ever since that moment his interest in philosophy and spirituality has continued to evolve, with Alexander documenting people and every-day objects, in his direct surroundings, trying to see beyond the veil of our perceived reality.
In his photography, Alexander captures poetic imagery, of an imperfect and abstract nature. In developing his film or digital imagery he likes to explore the horizon of the development processes to be continuously surprised by the beauty of imperfection.
The works of Alexander Sporre have been acquired by numerous art collections and is represented by Kahmann Gallery in Amsterdam.
